Howdy! Now that I’ve shared my morning skincare routine, let’s get into what I do at night. AND if you’re like me and care about ingredients, you’ve come to the right place. I use all clean, non-toxic beauty items.
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts and on social media, I use the Yuka and EWG apps to vet products and look up ingredients. If they are in the green, I will try them out.
I have simplified both my morning and nighttime routines, using products that are safe and effective. You will not find me lathering on 10 different products at nigh or applying acids. I am in a new phase this past year of being more mindful of protecting the barrier of my skin; not striping it and over exfoliating.
In the evening my main goals are: [1] cleaning my face WELL, [2] using red light for the long term benefits and [3] hydrating. Below I’ve listed my 5 step nighttime routine, details about each product as well as a link.
Please comment with any questions you have.
1. Oil Cleanser – I have tried SO many cleansers and prefer an oil option. It is gentle on the skin, not striping it, yet removes makeup very well. I love this Biossance option.
2. Micellar Water – I’m all about a double cleanse. I started doing this about 8 years ago and it cleared up my acne! Making sure I get EVERYTHING off of my skin has been a game changer. I use the Bioderma micellar water on a 100% cotton pad – love these from Amazon.
3. LED Red Light Mask – It’s been a solid 5+ months of consistently using my red light mask. I have the Dr. Dennis Gross option. I use it every single night to help with fine lines and wrinkles, redness and acne. My skin has never looked better! This product is definitely worth it!
4. Peptide Serum – This is my new holy grail product of the year. I have seen a noticeable difference in the bounce of my skin. It has a plumping effect as well as hydrating the skin at the same time. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
5. Oil – Hydration is the name of the game at night. Before going to bed I apply a thick layer of oil to my face, neck and chest. I’ve tried many oils and Mara is by far my favorite. It’s super moisturizing and smells great!
