Hey, friends! After the new year I gave my living room space a little refresh AND rearranged some furniture. I LOVE the way it turned out and today, I wanted to share it with y’all. I also rounded up MORE affordable options for accent furniture and decor to refresh your living rooms in the below SHOPS! Scroll down to check them out!
Overall my home style is neutral with a lot of texture and pops of dark accent colors: black and navy. My living room is a great example of this. The room is fairly large with high ceiling, so achieving a homey space to cuddle up in, is what I was going for. I was able to create this with a mix of structured furniture and cozy accents and decor.
As mentioned above, I gave my room a refresh in January with some new items like: pillows, blankets, faux stems, side tables, books and more. I also moved a few pieces of furniture around. I first started with rearranging the two oversized poufs and accent chairs. When I did that, the space immediately felt more balanced! Sometimes you need a good furniture swap to make the room FEEL better 😉 Get creative!
One of the many ways to refresh a room is with new accent pillows and throws. My two favorites!! Surprise, surprise. I decided to add in a bit more black to the space as I have it throughout my home. I did this with two beautiful black farmhouse pillows. I went with 23″x23″ square option and stuffed them with 26″x26″ inserts. My pillow insert tip – size up!! Your pillows will be more filled out, easier to mold and always have a great chop! I then styled my sectional with a new pom pom throw. It added a bit more neutral texture AND cozy vibe. A win-win.
I took it a step further and wanted to fill out the room a bit more with two end tables. First being a small round marble table with black base (sold out – another option here), brining in the darker color. And second a small bench used as a side table in between the chairs. A perfect fit for the small opening! I now could use these pieces of furniture to display books, family pictures and faux plants.
In last month’s Target run I came across a beautiful oversized round tray. I didn’t know where I wanted to use it but when I got home I tried it out the coffee table. I LOVED the mix of woods together and now I had a space for a style moment. I layered on a new coffee table book, candle and coasters. The tray decor turned out to be very cute AND practical.
Lastly I added faux stems to my living room. I love how it creates height in the room and brings in different textures. I used a new faux pampas grass and eucalyptus I found from World Market as well as classic white hydrangeas (another great option here) from Target. Both amazing prices and finds! They look SO good – not cheap at all!
