Its happening… summer is actually starting to wind down. As I mentioned previously, fall is my most favorite time of year so I’m getting very excited! BUT before we flip the switch let’s talk about a warm-weather look from a wedding weekend I attended in Sea Island, GA just a few weeks ago. I’ve never been to the south so it was quite the experience for me! I could do without the humidity and bugs but other than that it was beautiful and the people were beyond gracious. Southern hospitably is SO true! I loved it!
The night before the wedding we attended the rehearsal dinner and I wore the above skirt/top look. If you still have warm weather in your area of the country or are heading out on a sunny vacay, this is a great outfit for you! I love prints and a pencil skirt – viola, I found both! The shape of this skirt is super flattering on all body types, elongating your torso as it is high-waisted. Who doesn’t want to look skinnier, hehe 🙂 I do, I do! I mean… I ate a lot of shrimp and grits! I had to, I was in the south!! Ok, moving on. I chose to pair the skirt with a flowy off-the-shoulder top, only $17.50 from ASOS. I then stacked on my fave arm candy and my go-to nude heels from Vince Camuto. Finishing touches… my hair! Since the weather was humid and sticky, my hair was definitely going up! This hair-do is really easy! Just separate your hair into two sections, braid (regular or fishtail) each side so you have pigtails, then flip the braids up on your head and pin in place. Ok, ok, it may sound hard but I swear, it’s not! I’ll be posting a how-to video in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! Happy end of summer!
