Oh DEER! 🙂 I’m excited to share a fun and easy Halloween costume today.  Trust me, when I was looking at this makeup I was a bit skeptical BUT I’m happy to say, it was SO much easier than I thought.  It really makes this deer costume come to life!  So, why a deer?  Not only is it perfect because I now live up in the mountains, but I wanted to find a costume where I could utilize and/or make it with items I already had in my wardrobe.  I’m NOT a fan of out-of-the box costumes.  I think they are cheap and cheesy… sorry not sorry. 😉  It’s fun to get creative!

I first started by finding my outfit.  The TWO most important items for this look are an antler headband and furry coat.  I already had a faux fur jacket in my closet so that was a no brainer.  Oh, and did I mention this costume is SO comfy! 😉  Right up my alley!  I had planned to make my own antlers as I was inspired by Pinterest, but choose to purchase because of limited time.  I ended up buying my beauties from a vendor on Etsy.  I LOVED the pinky flowers incorporated with the antlers – check it out here.

I styled out the rest of this look with basics I already had in my wardrobe: tan tee, jeans and booties.  Bing. Bang. Boom!  I had my costume completed and was ready to attempt the makeup!

Last year I had a makeup artist friend in LA do my two looks – unicorn and sugar skull.  Since I now live in a small town, I was on my own!  I do enjoy doing my own makeup, but I was a tit bit nervous about how the deer would turn out.  I watched a few YouTube videos and found this one that helped tremendously.  I attempted the makeup one time and it took me about 20 minutes – NO lie!
