It all started with a mattress… vacuum sealed in a teeny tiny box at my doorstep.  Luke and I opened her up, set up the bed frame in less than 5 minutes while we let the seal release and the mattress grew to it’s full form.  I was quite amazed at how seamless and easy the setup process was – maybe 10 to 15 minutes total!

Next up, it was time to give her a try and boy was she comfy!  I was worried, like other tempurpedic-like beds, I wouldn’t have the back support I prefer as well as be very hot.  I’m happy to say, I had the exact opposite experience!  It not only cooled my body and kept it at the perfect temperature, but also molded to my shape perfectly.  I can’t say enough good things about it!  And Great news for y’all, if you purchase a Leesa mattress, you have 100 day risk-free trial!!  YAS please!  If you’re not satisfied, send it back!

Decor Details

Now that the foundation (mattress) of the room is complete, let’s talk furniture and decor!

There were two things that drove the design of this bedroom – the navy grasscloth wallpaper and black iron bed.  I wanted to created one accent wall with a bit of texture and color.  The grasscloth ended up being the perfect option.  Once we chose navy, it drove the rest of the interiors for this space.  Here is the company we used for the grasscloth.  I linked a similar option below.

I’ve always wanted a canopy bed and I’ve had my eye on the black beauty from Restoration Hardware for years.  She’s a real gem and I’m happy the frame fit in this space.  If you’re looking for a similar bed but at a lesser price-point, here are a few options: Bed 1, Bed 2 or Bed 3.

I mixed in neutrals, meaning grays, and a pop of metallic with the gold lamps and tray.  I picked up the gray hue in the rug, bedding and reclaimed wood dresser.  As I’ve mentioned on the blog before as well as my Instagram, our new home in Idaho is a Modern Farmhouse.  This room is a great example of mixing the two – the canopy bed frame, navy side tables and lamps are modern but mixed with the comfy bedding, dresser, mirror, blanket, cotton stems and wicker basket it adds the rustic touch needed to balance the room.
