Hi babes! Today I wanted to share my updated makeup routine. Now that I’m pregnant with baby number two, I’ve made some adjustments to my routine to make sure everything I’m using is “safe” and clean. I know everyone’s version of this is different, so use what you feel comfortable with. If you missed my Pregnancy No. 2 Skincare post, check it out here.
Below I take you through each product I use, when I’m actually wearing makeup ;), and the order in which I apply it. I’ve also included multiple options for cc creams and foundations as I have many I love and use during pregnancy. Remember, everyone’s skin is different as well as the climates in which we all live, so it’s key to find products that work for YOU!
This week on my Instagram Story, I’ll be showing y’all a tutorial. Please leave a comment with any questions you have here on the post.
[1] Primer – Using a primer is new to my makeup routine. I’m not one to wear powder so I was looking for a product that helped my makeup lay smooth on my face as well as keep it on all day long. This ILA Radiant Priming Serum does just that AND give your skin an extra glow.
[2] CC Cream – In my latest Pregnancy Skincare post I talked about a few different “safe” CC cream options. My current favorite is from Epionce. It’s dewy, feels light on the skin and has medium-ish coverage. I LOVE the way it feels on my skin! Here are the other options I like too: EltaMD UV Elements Tinted Broad-Spectrum SPF 44 and bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer.
[3] Foundation (color: 2 warm olive) – There are numerous pregnancy “safe” skincare foundations I rotate between however I’m currently using is from Dior. It has great coverage, giving your skin a natural, even look! Other foundations I like are: Becca Aqua Luminous Perfection Foundation, Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation and Dior Airflash Spray Foundation.
[4] Eye Shadow – I have been using this Tarte palette for years. If you’re like me, once you find colors that work for your skin-tone, you stick with them! There are many great neutrals, browns and pink tones. I typically use “flower child” all over my eyelids and “sweetheart” in the crease.
[5] Mascara (color: after midnight black) – My eyes are very sensitive, so I’m always on the lookout for CLEAN options. Once I found the Ilia Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara, I was hooked! It doesn’t irritate my eyes and I ‘m a big fan of the wand, keeping my lashes separated. NO spider eyes over here! 😉
[6] Brow Pencil (color: dark brown) – If I want my brows to be bolder than they already are, I’ll apply a little bit of my Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil. I do have mine mircrobladed (more about that in this post), so this is if I really want to go for it!
[7] Brow Gel (color: dark brown) – Since I have fairly long hair on my brows, I like to use a gel to keep them in place. The Anastasia Dipbrow is one of my favorites because it also has pigment, filling in your brows a bit.
[8] Concealer 1 (color: beige & buff) & Concealer 2 (color: light to medium) – These two concealers are some of my all-time beauty favorites and I use them in different places on my face. The first being Clé de Peau’s Concealer SPF 25. The coverage is incredible! If you are looking for full-evening coverage, this product is for you. I use it to brighten up my face (under nose, forehead and chin) and cover acne if I’m breaking out. The second gem I use is BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector. This product is VERY dewy and hydrates the under eye beautifully! I like to use a lighter product under my eyes as it feels light and does not look “cakey”.
[9] Bronzer – I prefer to use a matte bronzer paired with a glowy blush. My new fave is from Lune & Aster. It comes in a neutral palette with a few eye shadows and highlighters. Great for everyday use. I apply my bronzer along my hair line, jaw and under my cheek bones.
[10] Blush (color: orgasm) – Nars “orgasm” is my ride or die blush. Love it and always will. It’s the perfect color with a touch of simmer!
[11] Lip Balm – It’s so important to keep my lips hydrated especially because I live in a dry climate. I have the Sara Happ The Lip Slip Balm on my at all times. Once y’all try, you will be hooked! It’s the perfect balance, of hydration and shine.
