Summer Front Porch Details

Happy Monday, guys! I am SO excited to finally share one of my favorite new outdoor spaces in my modern farmhouse; my front porch! I have been dreaming of the day that I could be sitting on my porch, rocking away on a chair, smelling the fresh air and sipping on a drink. The weather took a bit longer than usual to warm up this year, so it stalled my porch decor. Last month when it became “summer” here in the mountains, I was able to put together this space. Luke and I are finally enjoying it – YAY!

The porch was an addition I made during the design process with our architect that I felt completed the “farmhouse” look we were trying to achieve. I’ve always wanted one as I find they are SO welcoming when walking up to a home. I’m glad we decided on a front porch and excited to show y’all how I styled it out!

I first started with the front door decor. If you know me, you know I love a fun doormat. I got my personalized antler beauty made from my fave door lady, Nickle Designs Shop. She made a custom oversized beauty that fit my door perfectly. I layered it with a buffalo check rug to add a fun farmhouse pattern and texture. Note, because I have an oversized door mat, I went with a 4×6″ plaid rug. If you have a normal size entry door, go with a 2×3″. You want to make sure you see it, babes! 😉

I finished off the entryway with small black lanterns and two medium sized galvanized planters on each side of the door. Both another great rustic-country touch. I decided to plant herbs in the planters to add a little greenery. Fingers crossed I can keep them alive! 😉 The added benefit of utilizing herbs at the front door, is it always smells fresh and delicious! Love it!

For the remainder of the porch, I wanted to create a seating area. I purchased two black modern rocking chairs for outside Luke’s office doors. They are my favorite – easy to put together, great price and comfortable! GOOD news, I found them in-stock and for only $126! I paired these chairs with a simple concrete side table (on sale), natural poufs (only $50!) and plaid farmhouse pillows ($15 for an 18×18″). SO many great DEALS in this spaces, boos!

Lastly I added a braided natural rug for Luke’s office slider door and galvanized bucket with faux flowers. Once again, these pieces add to my farmhouse style home. See below to shop everything from my porch! If you’re wondering what I am going to do with the opposite side, stay tuned!! I just ordered a porch swing but unfortunately it takes a while to make. Fingers crossed it arrives before the snow! LOL 🙂

Almost every morning you can find me watering my herbs at the front door, enjoying the sun coming up and having a cup of coffee. It is SO quiet and peaceful in this space and especially fun to hang out in now that I’ve added furniture!

As always, leave a comment with any questions you have.
