Place Setting Details

Hi, y’all! Today I’m very excited to announce I have partnered with Walmart to share their new home line, MoDRN. I was amazed at the broad assortment of furniture, decor goodies, bath items and entertaining gems available. Over 600 new SKUs!! Trust me, you guys are going to want to check it out!

Since moving into our home, I’ve been on the hunt for new dishes and flatware that I could use on the daily. These were the first items I began to look at when searching the MoDRN collection. I came across black stoneware dinner plates and knew the design and color would be a perfect fit in my modern farmhouse! Good news, these plates come in a set of 4 and are only $30!! What did I tell ya about the affordable prices?! SO good! These beauties are microwave/dishwasher-safe, and in my house, this is very important for everyday use!

Once I selected my place setting foundation of black pates, it was time to find other pieces to go along with them – small salad plates, flatware, napkins, glasses and decor. Rather than choosing the same color for my smaller plates, I decided to mix it up with a light gray option. It is from the same stoneware family as my black beauties and in my opinion, a great complimentary color combo.

Now to find flatware… If y’all are like me, I have the hardest time selecting a style that will last for the long haul. In my experience flatware can be too traditional or contemporary in design for my liking. The industrial 20 piece flatware set I found in the new MoDRN collection is by far my favorite find! They have a similar feel and color combination as my plate selection. The hammered black antique handles give an “old / rustic” look, while the silver tops a more modern feel. Mixing the two is what my home interior style is all about. I don’t think these could be any more perfect!

I finished off my everyday place setting with classic farmhouse mason jars, gingham plaid napkins and MoDRN’s new Glass Square Candle Holders (only $25)! Both the glassware and napkins help create a country feel while the candle holders provide a more modern element. Together, they make for a well balanced everyday tablescape for my modern farmhouse!
