Farmhouse Bathroom Details

Hey y’all! Today I’m SO excited to finally be sharing my farmhouse bathroom. I’ve taken the time to write out every little detail of each area in this space: vanities, shower, tub and the overall bathroom finishes and decor. See below for my breakdown, decor shop and up-close images.

When I started to design this space I knew 3 things; I wanted [1] a fun cement tile floor, [2] a grid steel-looking shower door and [3] a farmhouse tub. As many of you know, the overall theme of my home is modern farmhouse. The master bathroom is a great representation of this design style mixing, farmhouse sinks, rustic wood vanities, country floors, shiplap walls with matte black fixtures, modern hardware and a chic marble shower. This room has become a little sanctuary for me!

I want to point out a few custom items in my bathroom that I get asked about all the time. My shower door and vanity…

Shower Door – As I mentioned above, I knew I wanted a grid design door the moment I saw similar options on Pinterest. I was aware it would be expensive but it was one of the items in our budget I was willing to splurge on. Before finding our custom fabricator in Idaho, Earth and Structure, I was looking into an out-of-the-box Gridscape version from Coastal Shower Doors. After pricing out both, I went with the custom option. It was a bit more expensive but I had the freedom to design whatever I wanted. She turned out gorg!

Vanity – The majority of the woodwork in our home is custom – kitchen, mudroom, Luke’s office, bathrooms and our front door. All of these items were made by a local woodworking company, Taylor Woodworks. They were an amazing team, helping me design the most beautiful pieces of furniture. When looking at pricing, I was surprised to find that many of the options I like from Restoration Hardware, were just as expensive as having custom pieces built. This is one of the reasons I decided to go this route, but I also appreciated being able to create items special to my home. We started the design process with a gray reclaimed wood sample I found. Other than the beams/columns in my house, this is probably the most rustic element. After deciding on the wood species, we designed the shape and selected the finishes: farmhouse apron sinks, sleek black pulls, marble top, black scones and iron mirrors. All were the perfect mix of modern farmhouse.

As always, leave a comment with any questions you have. Enjoy my farmhouse bathroom!

  1. Love your shelving! How deep are your shelves? Did you custom build the shelves, or purchase them?
Also, how far is the left side of your vanity from the shiplap wall? We are going to have the same setup!

    • Thank you! The shelves are a little over a foot deep. They are custom made.
There is 1’4″ between vanity and built-in shelf around the tub.

  2. Is your vanity sconce black? The one you have linked says it is burnished bronze. There is not a black option…I’m worried it is going to look bronze.

  3. Your whole house is so beautiful. I know you said you use Simply White for your walls, but what color paint do you use for your trim and baseboards?

  4. Thank You for sharing! I’d contacted you just recently thru IG and asked you about all of the tile in this room and you were awesome getting back to me! Thanks for this detailed post which I will be referencing! This Bathroom is EVERYTHING!!!!!

    • Thanks, Kerri! I had the stain it a few times to match a sample I found through the building process. It’s custom so I don’t have the exact formula 😉
