Hello smoothie season! Come warm weather, I’m all about a protein shake for lunch. Today I am sharing my newest obsession: Cherry Chocolate. It’s SO good!
If you’re looking for a new blender that is incredibly powerful, I’ve got you – link here. I did a bunch of research last year to find one that was 2,200 wats. Essentially I was looking for an option that had enough power to completely break down food in order to get the most nutrition possible. The blender I purchased and love is commercial grade, quiet as it has a cover and worth every penny.
In today’s recipe I decided to mix one of my most favorite summer fruits, cherries, with creamy chocolate protein powder, seeds, almond butter and one date for added sweetness. I’ve been making this smoothie on repeat all month long AND my kiddos are big fans too. Blend this up for the entire family!
AND great news, cherries are heart-healthy, help with inflammation and recovery after exercise along with improving your sleep. Adding more into your diet is a no brainer!
See below for a list of ingredients and steps to make. Enjoy!
1 cup of ice
1 cup of frozen cherries
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder – I use Paleo Valley
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
1 tablespoon of cacao nibs
1 tablespoon of almond butter
1 pitted date
3/4 cup of oat milk – or sub milk of choice
1. Place everything into a blender and mix on hight for about 1 minute. I have this high powered blender and love it.
2. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy! I use THE cutest cherry cups – link here.
