Fall Simmer Pot

17 10

Hey y’all! I’m VERY excited about my fall simmer pot recipe, also known as a potpourri. I’ve been making these in my home all season, and let me tell ya, it smells SO delicious and festive. Great news, it’s easy to do! After you create one, you’ll want to do it all the time. If you have an apple or an orange about to go bad, create a simmer pot!

I typically make mine on the weekends or if we are having people over, so everyone can enjoy. What’s better than a nice smelling home?

I also want to note, it’s a non-toxic scent for your home. If you’re like me and mindful about chemicals (including certain types of candles) in your house, this is a great safe option.

I’ll be sure to share a holiday simmer pot next month! Stay tuned… See below for a list of ingredients and steps to make. Your nose will thank you 🙂

Ingredients

1 apple sliced

1 orange sliced

1 lemon sliced

3 cinnamon sticks

3 star anise

1 tablespoon whole cloves

1 spring of rosemary

Steps

1. Fill pot with 5 cups of water – about 3/4 of the way up. Here’s the link to my glass pot.

2. Place 3 slices of apples, oranges and lemons into the pot. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Let boil for 2 minutes.

3. Turn heat to simmer. Let sit for a few hours and give your home the best fall scent!
