Fall apple recipe take two! I posted my baked apple chips last week that the kiddos are devouring and let me tell you, the fam is going to love these two! A healthy-ish sweet treat for the season!
Last year I made chocolate caramel apple pops that were a HIT and this year I wanted to put a different spin on it. Fall apple slices it is!
Simply slice up your favorite apples of choice, drizzle chocolate and/or caramel sauce and sprinkle with your favorite toppings. Place them in the fridge to set and boom, they’re ready to enjoy!
This recipe is fun to make with your kiddos. See ingredients and steps below.
2 apples (makes 8-10 slices) – I used fuji, a sweeter apple
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/4 cup caramel sauce
Toppings – chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts, coconut (up to you!)
1. Slice your apples into 8-10 pieces using a knife or mandoline.
2. Place apples on a piece of parchment paper either on a large baking sheet or plate
3. Melt the 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chips and coconut in a bowl. Stir well until it’s liquid.
4. Warm the caramel sauce in a bowl – about 20 seconds in the microwave.
5. Drizzle the apple slices with chocolate and/or caramel sauce. I did a mix.
6. Sprinkle the apples with your favorite toppings.
7. Place in the fridge to set for 30 minutes.
8. Enjoy!
*these will last about a day or two. Apples will brown. The apple slices are meant to be enjoyed the day you make them.
