Wellness Favorites I Can’t Live Without

09 29

Hey hey! I’ve been on my wellness journey for quite some time now, as I know many of you have too. Today I wanted to roundup my FAVORITES I can’t live without and that I literally use daily.

Some items are beauty and self-care and other’s are internal – i.e. protein powder, hydration salt packs and blue-light blocking glasses.

Below I’ve detailed each item and why I love it as well as links. Be well!

Wellness Favorites

LED Face Mask – I frequently get asked, is this product worth it? Short answer is, yes! Red light therapy is amazing for the skin. It targets fine lines, wrinkles, redness and acne. BUT you have to be consistent. This is a product for the long game. I use it every night after I wash my face. My nighttime skin routine including my mask is detailed on this post.

Gua Sha – One of my favorite tools to use for lifting and draining my face. I’ve posted all of the details about Gua Sha here. You can also find my video tutorial on my Instagram. Once you have it down, it’s so easy to do. My routine takes me about 3 minutes. I try to do it 5 times a week, preferably in the morning, as it de-puffs, drains and sculpts my face.

Silk Pillow Case – Love this simple tip for your skin and hair while sleeping. It helps protect and not cause breakage to your hair as well as keep your skin looking great. I can immediately tell when I don’t sleep on a silk pillowcase. Trust me, get one!

Lavender Oil Roller – This is one of my favorite calming scents. At night I use it on the tip of my nose and inner wrists. Take a few deep breaths and go to sleep.

Ice Roller – If you’ve been around here for awhile you know I LOVE a good ice roller. I tend to be on the puffier side and you can find me ice rolling almost every morning. I’m a big fan of the new version of The Skinny Confidential Roller. I like that it’s smaller, more compact, has two sides with different shapes, one for contouring and stays cold for EVER! This is a great tool to add to your morning skincare routine. Mine is detailed on this post.

Bone Broth Protein – Always looking for good quality protein that actually tastes GOOD! IYKYK! So many proteins can be inedible. This bone broth option from Paleo Valley is delicious AND comes from 100% grass fed beef. I prefer the chocolate and typically add it to smoothies or homemade bars. The powder helps me hit my protein goals throughout the week!

Blue Light Blocking Glasses – Luke and I have incorporated these in the evening once the sun goes down. If we are on our phones and/or watching a show in the evening, we pop on our blue light blocking glasses. Make sure they are amber colored as it cancels out blue! These help insure we get better sleep, and our circadian rhythm is not disturbed, keeping our hormones on track.

Epsom Salts – I am a bath girlie. If you are too, do yourself a favor and add epsom salts, but make sure they are clean/organic! These salts are great to detoxifying your body and release muscle tension. Such a great addition to your bath routine!

LED Light Therapy Lamp – This is called a Happy Lamp. But really, I now get it. After using it during the winter last year, I could tell a BIG difference! Since I live in a northern latitude winter days are short and mornings are DARK. I suffer from seasonal depression because of this. It’s important that I get light in my eyes when I wake up to start my hormones on the right track. This will effect not only my mood throughout the day but also my sleep cycle. I turn my lamp on in the morning for a 20 minutes. It’s the best $49 you will spend for your wellness!

Copy Body Brush – Brushing is a great way to move your lymphatic system and help support your body to flush toxins. If you’re on the market for a body brush, spend the extra bucks and get the copper version. It has the added benefit of releasing neutralizing ions that target acidity and balance your energy state. YES please!

Air Filter – The air we breath is EVERYTHING. Especially if you live in a part of the world that doesn’t have it or you have toxins in the air – i.e. candles, cleaning supplies, mold, etc. Make sure the spaces in your home are clean from allergens and pollutants by using air filters. I have them in all of the main areas of my home + our bedrooms. Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there!

Electrolyte Salt Packs – Staying hydrated and drinking enough water is crucial for overall wellness. I found LMNT packs a few years ago and love them, adding them to my water daily. I prefer the following flavors: raspberry, citrus and chocolate (sounds weird but kind of tastes like chocolate milk).
