Summer S’mores Basket

06 22

Hi y’all!

There’s nothing quite like gathering around a fire pit (or even the stovetop on a rainy mountain evening) with sticky fingers, gooey marshmallows, and big smiles. Our boys Ford and West light up every time we pull out the s’mores supplies, and it’s become one of our favorite simple rituals this summer.

I put together this sweet little S’mores Basket to keep everything in one spot—ready for spontaneous family nights. It lives on the counter or travels easily out to the fire pit. Here’s how I styled it for our neutral mountain home while keeping it family-friendly as possible.

What’s in the Basket

Roasting Sticks: These long-handled forks with wooden grips are perfect for little hands (with supervision, of course). They come in a cute canvas bag so they stay neat and clean. I found them on Amazon – link here.

Graham Crackers: Classic squares stacked in a small bowl—nothing fancy, just the good old standby.

Marshmallows: Big, fluffy ones in a pretty scalloped bowl. We look for brands without artificial dyes or flavors when possible. I found this one at our local grocery store – Hammond’s. I am going to attempt to make my own this summer!

Hu Chocolate: My go-to cleaner chocolate swap! Hu is made with simple ingredients, no refined sugar, and it melts beautifully. The boys don’t notice the difference, and I love that it aligns with our clean eating foundation.

Woven Basket: A natural seagrass or jute basket ties everything together with that cozy, earthy texture I love in our home. I found mine at Target here.

Quick Assembly Tips

1. Start with a shallow woven tray or basket that fits your space.

2. Use small ceramic or stoneware bowls for the crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate—they feel elevated and are easy to wash.

3. Add a cloth pouch or wrap for the sticks to keep everything tidy.

*Optional extras: A few reusable napkins, a jar of sea salt or cinnamon for sprinkling, or even dark chocolate squares for the grown-ups.

This setup takes about 5 minutes to pull together but makes weeknight memories feel special. We’ve been doing after-dinner s’mores walks when the weather’s nice—roast, eat, and chase the boys around the yard. Pure summer magic.
