Hey there! Today I wanted to share more details about what I’m doing post surgery to support my body.
I’ve found that after the explant, my healing journey has just begun. Now that my implants are out, my body can truly start to detox all of the things that have quite literally been stuck inside of me. My pathways are open and SO much is flushing out… trust me, I can tell. This is happening through pee, poop, sweat and my skin (i.e. rashes).
Below I’m detailing out each thing I’m doing, why and at what point I started to implement them. Linking resources and products as well to make it as easy as possible for y’all.
Detox Supplement Program – I’m doing a specific detox program for 4 months post surgery. I’m currently on the 4th phase (4th month). It is A LOT of pills however I’m committed to flushing everything in my system: molds, fungus, metals, parasites, etc. Here are the ones I’m doing: Cellcore
Additional Supplements – Dr. Whitfiled Inflammation Support Bundle includes: Liposomal B Complex, Liposomal Glutathione, Liposomal Vitamin D, Liposomal Vitamin C, Carnitine Support, and MagBoost. In addition I’m taking a natural supplement including the herb, tongkat ali, to help boost my testosterone. It’s called Female Stim.
Castor Oil Liver Pack – I do this almost every night if possible and use the Queen of the Thrones brand that is 100% organic cotton. I lather my stomach/liver area with castor oil and place the liver pack on top for at least an hour. Make sure the castor oil you use is safe for your skin / pure – i.e. hexane free. The pack helps detox my liver and give it more support as I’m pulling many things out with the Cellcore detox. I wash my liver pack once a week.
Body Brushing – I already brushed pre surgery however it became more important post to open up my lymphatic system and help flush everything out of my body. I purchased a new copper filled brush, worth every penny, and started using it daily 3 weeks post surgery when I get out of the shower and/or bath. The copper bristles release neutralizing ions that target acidity and balance your energy state. I brush starting at my ankles, in an upward motion, toward my heart.
Lymphatic Massage – Luckily I found someone local who specializes in lymphatic massage and drainage. I started immediately after surgery to help the fluid and swelling from surgery decrease quicker.
Eating a high protein diet – This is something I already started to incorporate pre explant so I didn’t find it too challenging. There were 3 reasons my Doc recommends this: [1] quicker recovery [2] maintaining energy and [3] increased success of the fat transfer. My current favorite protein powder is Paleo Valley – linked here. It’s 100% grass fed bone broth.
Hydrate – Since my body is flushing out a lot of toxins it’s important to stay on top of hydration. The added Bodyhealth amino acid powder and LMNT packs to my water are super helpful. I typically do one scoop of powder in my morning water and a LMNT hydratioin pack later in the day.
Morning Walk – Every morning you can find me getting light in my eyes and moving my body via a walk. I started walking immediately after surgery, working my way up from 10 mins to an hour. I make sure I don’t wear sunglasses to get the benefits of the morning sun.
Red Light Therapy – I purchased a belt/wrap on Amazon that I could easily put on any part of the body. I lay it over my chest for a 30 minute session in the evening while I wear my castor oil liver pack. Infrared light is great for inflammation and wound healing. I’ve already seen an improvement in my scars.
Strength Training (6 weeks post) – Once I was cleared to workout, I wanted to focus on strength training. Especially after surgery and not using my body, I wanted to feel strong again. I started slow with light weights – nothing over 10 pounds in each hand. At the same time I began to take barre classes again. This has been a great way for me to get my strength back and feel like I’m getting a good workout.
Epsom Salt & Baking Soda Baths (6 weeks post) – Once my wounds were healed, I could get back into a bath. I’ve definitely become a bath girlie and was so happy when I could soak it up! I love to add epsom salts to detox the body and help with sore muscles. In addition I started putting a scoop of baking soda in as my detox nurse told me it helps with the skin irritations I was encountering because of Cellcore. It’s a naturally PH balancing. I put in about one cup of epsom salt to 1/4 cup of baking soda.
Sauna (3 mo post) – 3 month post surgery I was cleared to do hot and cold therapy. It’s typically 6 weeks post explant but because I had the added fat transfer, I had to wait. This is because you essentially don’t want to burn the new fat away by doing fat burning activities: sauna, cold and HIT workouts. Allowing the fat time to “stick” helps for a better outcome. Heat therapy is such a great detox and I have been missing it! I haven’t been able to do it for almost a year. This is because once I started this explant journey with Dr. Whitfield, he advised me not to heat up my implants. I’m back to my regular routine of getting in the sauna 5 days a week for 15-20 minutes.
Cold Plunge (3 mo post) – I started cold plunging a few weeks ago and let me tell you, it’s not easy! When you take 3 months off you are essentially starting over. I lasted about a minute the first week and am now up to a minute and a half. Working my way back up to 3-4 minutes per session. My goal is to hit at least 12 minutes a week for all of the benefits: Increase energy and focus, enhance mood, build resilience and increased metabolism.
