Homemade Raw Almond Butter

Hey there, guys! Get ready for a delicious new recipe Luke helped me create. Have you ever thought about making homemade almond butter? I got you!

Why oh why do I make my own almond butter? Well, here are my reasons… using truly RAW almonds that have NOT been treated/steamed ensures that, [1] the nut hasn’t been striped of its nutrients, and [2] no mold forms.

Our kiddos love almond butter so I wanted to created a homemade option that was healthier than the store-bought versions and safe. Check, check!

I found truly raw almonds from a farm in California, link here, and have them shipped in a 5 pound bag. Tip – I store them in the freezer so they last longer. To create this almond butter I use a high powered blender to mix the nuts with raw honey, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, avocado oil and a bit of water. It’s so easy to make and we put it on everything!

Once the almond butter is made, I put it in a glass container with a lid, and store it in the fridge. It lasts about a week. Remember, it is fresh with no additives. I typically make it at the beginning of each week while I food prep.

See below for the recipe and steps to make. Enjoy!

Ingredients

{makes 16 ounces}

3 cups of raw almonds – I found mine from this farm

1/4 cup of raw honey

1 teaspoon of Himalayan salt

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

3/4 cup of avocado oil

3/4 cup of water

Steps

1. Put everything into a high powdered blender and mix. I like it a bit crunchy so I blend until all ingredients are mixed well but the nuts aren’t completely smooth. You may need to stop the blender and use a spatula or wood spoon to help move the mixture.

2. Store in the refrigerator. It will last about a week.
