Everyday Clean Beauty Basics I Love

17 01

Alright ladies and gents, it’s time to talk about clean beauty! This is my first scheduled post of many, starting with everyday basics. Think toothpaste, deodorant, body products, shampoo/conditioner and more. If you missed my latest healthy living posts, check them out here: Why I’m Creating a Healthy, Non-toxic Life and 5 Easy Things I Do to Create a Healthy, Non-toxic Home.

I’ve tried SO many clean, non-toxic products and today I’m sharing my favorites that actually work. I use Think Dirty and EWG to look up product ingredients to make sure what I’m using are safe. I highly recommend these resources!

The items I’m sharing today are easy switches to make and will ensure a healthier option for your body. Don’t feel like you need to do everything all at once 😉 When I ran out of a product I was using, I would swap it for a clean option, and see how I liked it.

Next up, I’m going to post my favorite skincare (face) and makeup products. Stay tuned!

See below for my collage roundup (clickable) and details about each item.

Hand Soap – I’m a big fan of the Grown Alchemist brand. You will see I use many of their products in the upcoming posts. They are made with natural ingredients and smell delicious. I have their hand soap in all of my bathrooms and my kitchen. An extra bonus is you can order refills of the soap. I love this so I don’t waste bottles. I use glass options throughout my home and simply fill them up when they are running low.

Body WashNative is where it’s at. All of their products are free of sulfates, parabens, and phthalates. Simple ingredients that are effective. My favorite scent is the Eucalyptus & Mint. Both Luke and I use this.

Deodorant – I first posted my Native deodorant and then found out the formula changed which included mineral oil. I quickly switched to Curie and love it. I use the juniper eucalyptus option as I like a more woodsy scent. However there is a variety to choose from. This deodorant last all day long with no re-application.

Self-Tanning Cream – Sometimes I need a little tan and this non-toxic self tanner from Luxe Unfiltered is the best option. It’s infused with shea butter, cocoa butter, squalane, avocado oil, and passion fruit oil, leaving your skin dewy and bronze. AND it smells great! Yes please!

Body Balm – Since I live in the driest climate EVER, finding things to hydrate my skin is so important. I’ve found the body balm from OSEA is a phenomenal option. I LOVE the consistency as it is a mix between an oil and a lotion. I’ve seen a huge improvement of my skin texture, especially during the winter months. At night I use my body brush to exfoliate and then apply this balm. Perfection!

Body Oils – Hydration is key and especially during the winter months. If you’re looking for an oil, I have two I can’t live without: One Love Organics and OSEA. They both work like a dream to hydrate the skin. I prefer to use them on the dry areas of my body before bed: ankles, knees, elbows and hands. Lather it on!

Shampoo & Conditioner – It took me FOREVER to find non-toxic haircare that actually cleaned my hair well and I liked the smell. I finally went for it and tried Grown Alchemist. It is more on the pricey side, BUT it is amazing!! Since I only wash my hair a few times a week, these last me a very long time. My favorites are: Nourishing and Colour Protect.

Teeth Whitening Strips – I have been using Lumineux for years and they work! These strips are non-toxic, sensitivity free and microbiome safe. I apply them a few times a week to keep my smile as white as can be!

Toothpaste – Like my deodorant, I made the switch to fluoride free toothpaste 8+ years ago. I’ve used a few other clean options but I like Wellnesse the best. It’s made with safe and natural ingredients that help to not only clean but also whiten your teeth. My kiddos use the strawberry option and love it.
