Açaí Bowls {no added sugar}

23 08

Hi hi! Today I wanted to share my take on a classic açaí bowl with no added sugar (maple syrup or honey). It’s all about the base consistency and my recipe will help you achieve the perfect thickness and yummy flavor.

Frozen açaí doesn’t have any sugar in it so sweetening it up with other frozen fruit and a date is key! I added avocado for a healthy fat component and a scoop of protein (optional) to help me hit my daily goal. I’ve found smoothies are a great way to get your kids (or yourself) the nutrients your body needs: fats, seeds, antioxidants and protein.

Complete the bowl by adding toppings of your liking. Here I used grain-free granola, strawberries, blueberries, hemp seeds, chia seeds, bee pollen and an almond butter drizzle. YUM!

Below is a list of ingredients and steps to make. Enjoy!

Ingredients

{2-4 servings}

2 frozen açaí packages

1 cup frozen banana

1/2 cup frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen avocado

1 cup oat milk (or sub milk of choice)

1/2 cup plain whole greek yogurt – I use this brand (no added sugar)

1 date

*optional – 1 scoop protein powder – I like these: Four Sigmatic & Thrive Market

Topping ideas: granola, strawberries, blueberries, hemp seeds, chia seeds, bee pollen, nut butter drizzle

Steps

1. Place everything into a blender and mix. About 2 minutes.

2. Pour into single serving bowls and garnish with toppings of your choice.

3. Eat right away or it will melt!
