Happy weekend, y’all! Today I wanted to share a smoothie recipe I’ve been making Ford and myself for the past few months. It is his favorite and filled with SO much goodness. I’ve found smoothie are a great wide to “hide” very healthy ingredients like nut butter, seeds and avocado. All good fats! I call this concoction, “Berry Island”, as the taste makes me think of somewhere tropical like Hawaii! It’s packed full of raspberries, strawberries, banana and pineapple.
See below for the list of ingredients and steps. Note, this recipe makes enough for both Ford and I to have a glass. I will link his glass smoothie cups here – they are THE best!
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen banana
1/4 cup frozen avocado (look for them – they exist!)
1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
1 Tablespoon almond butter
1 teaspoon hemp seeds
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon flax seeds
squirt of honey or agave
1-1/2 cups milk – I use Oat MALK
[1] Throw everything in the blender – raspberries through agave.
[2] Add 1 cup of milk on top of ingredients and start to blend on 6-7 (medium). Continue to add more milk until everything starts to mix evenly and creates a creamy consistency. Don’t add too much liquid – it will get runny.
[3] Pour in a glass and enjoy!
