Hi hi! It’s time to make your cocktails/mocktails extra festive this season with holiday ice cubes! They are such a fun touch and SO easy to make. I prefer to use the larger ice mold to make these. This ensures the ice melts slower in your drink. Here’s the link to the trays I have from Amazon.
In today’s recipe I used cranberry, dried oranges and fresh rosemary. They look SO beautiful. I’ve also done these using pomegranate seeds.
Tip: make sure to use boiling water. This will make the cubes more clear when it freezes!
I love to use these holiday ice cubes in my Merry Manhattan (recipe here) or Champagne. See below for a list of ingredients and steps to make.
1 1/2 cup cranberries
8 dried oranges – I found mine here
3 rosemary sprigs
1. Place equal amounts of cranberries into the ice cube tray. About 2/3 of the mold.
2. Put one dried orange slice into each mold.
3. Heat water in a pot on high. Once it is boiling, use a glass measuring cup to pour into the tray. Fill the molds to the top.
4. Place a small piece of fresh rosemary in each of the molds.
5. Put into the freezer to harden. I give it 24 hours.
6. Pull out of the freezer. Pop the cubes out of the mold. Place in a glass and pour over your favorite holiday drink. Enjoy!
