Merry Manhattan Holiday Cocktail

11 19

Cheers, y’all! It’s time to whip up the best holiday cocktail. I’ve always been a tequila gal (still am) BUT over the past few years, once winter hits, I crave whiskey! Who am I?! LOL

I’ve learned to make a manhattan just how I like it with not too much vermouth and a cherry or two 🙂 I prefer a big cube meaning the cocktail is STIRRED not shaken. You could easily serve this up if you prefer to shake it, James Bond style!

Below is the list of ingredients and in my opinion, brands matter! I will specify exactly what I use. Scroll down for steps to make and links to fun cocktail glasses and napkins to use this holiday season. Enjoy!

Ingredients

3 oz. rye whiskey – Bulleit

3/4 oz. vermouth – Antica

2 dashes orange bitters – Scrappy’s

1 large ice cube – mold

2 cherries – Peninsula Premium

1 dried orange – Etsy

1 cocktail pick – A Bar Above

Steps

1. Place 3-5 ice cubes (regular sized) into a shaker or mixing glass.

2. Add whiskey, vermouth and bitters to shaker/glass. Stir slowly to mix and chill liquid. You don’t want to break up the ice. I use a bar tool to mix but you could use a large spoon.

3. Put one large cube in a cocktail glass and pour manhattan over it.

4. Garnish with one dried orange and two cherries on a cocktail pick.
