Newborn Must-Have Details

Hey there, new moms or soon-to-be mamas! This post is for you! I’m rounding up all of the newborn items you will ACTUALLY use. I know there are SO many things on the market and it can be overwhelming to know what you need. Here are the things I love and used on a daily basis with Ford and now West.

The above collage is linkable and below I’m explaining a little bit about each product and why/what I use it for. If you have a question(s) feel free to leave a comment on this post. I will get back to you!

Newborn Must-Have Items

Air Purifier – The Levoit air purifier filtration captures allergens, pet hair, dander, smoke, mold spores, odors, and large dust particles. It quiets, has 3 different setting and is perfect to put around baby. I have mine next to West’s bassinet.

Boppy Lounger – I love this particular style as it allows the baby to sit upright a bit. I legit have 3 of these, two in the house and one in our Airstream. I used them with Ford, and now with West. It’s the perfect place to set your baby while he/she is awake and you need to get a few things done: i.e. fold laundry, make dinner, etc.

Snuggle Me Organic Lounger – This lightweight and portable option snuggles your baby with a tight fit that keeps baby in place with a calming hugging sensation. Unlike the option above, your baby lays completely flat in this lounger. I have the color “birch”.

Newborn Carrier/Wrap – I am obsessed with my Nesting Days wrap. I found this company through the recommendation of my postpartum Doula. The design is incredible, making it easy to securely wear baby. I love that West is comfortable, can sleep and/or breastfeed in the wrap and it’s hands-free for me! Ladies, this is a must-have!! I tried many other wraps with Ford and it was always a pain to put on and I felt like he wasn’t secure on my chest. I purchased the “clay” color but it comes in many other options.

Muslin Lightweight Blankets – Trust me, you will use these for EVERYTHING! I have them all over the house to wrap baby in, burp West or clean up spit. I’m a big fan of this brand and they have the most fun prints! I’d suggest buying at least 2 sets of these.

Large Blanket – I found it’s nice to have a few larger blankets to wrap baby in when he is cold OR to lay on the ground for play time. I love this XO option – very on-brand 😉

Diaper Pail – This diaper pail design is pretty stylish, not too terrible to look at, AND works! No odor – yes please! I have 3 around the house now that I have two babies under 2! Always prepared LOL

Diapers & Wipes – I use Pampers Pure for both diapers and wipes. They are hypoallergenic and free of chlorine bleaching, fragrance, parabens, and latex. Both boys wear these. Mom tip – make sure you have the correct size!! Blowout are not fun 🙁

Diaper Cream – A friend recommended the Welda brand and I LOVE it! Great for diaper rash or a red bum.

Peanut Changer – Perfect changer for baby! It fits nicely on a dresser or changing table. West is comfortable and it’s SO easy to clean.

Bath Tub – The design of this tub is great as the seat is adjustable. We used it with Ford and now with West. It fits nicely into a normal tub or double sink. I also used it with Ford on our RV trips.

Portable White Noise Maker – These are SO important!! We use them in both boys rooms and on the go. I always have one in my diaper bag. I particularly like this brand as it gets really loud, you have the ability to turn it up and down and has different noise options.

Swaddles – VELCRO is key! It makes your life so much easier. I tried swaddling with the muslin blankets and it was a major fail! LOL. A hand would ALWAYS be popping out! These are so easy to swaddle baby in. I use them for his naps and during the night. TRUST ME, swaddle you baby. It relaxes them and helps them sleep! I’m HERE for that 🙂

Burp Clothes – Like the lightweight muslin blankets, I have these EVERYWHERE around the house. The organic material is amazing and they are super easy to clean. I am constantly washing them and they hold up SO well. I’d recommend having about 3-4 packs on-hand. You go through them quickly!

Stroller – Alrighty, here is the BIG ticket item that is worth every penny! We purchased the UPPABaby Vista V2 stroller with Ford and now have the adapters so both boys can ride in it. This beauty has been in ALL types of weather and terrain since we live in Idaho, and it’s performed wonderfully! I’m a big fan of the extra storage below as I always have a thousand things to take with me on walks! #momlife 🙂
