Well guys, here we go again! Love me som skincare and this treatment dose NOT disappoint. After listening to numerous hours of podcasts with dermatologists and skincare professionals, I knew RF (radio frequency) microneedling (Morpheus 8 machine) was in my future. I’ve tried many treatments to help my skin tone and texture including: IPL, BBL and classic microneedling. These have all given me good results for different skin issues however the biggest overall glow in my skin has come from the RF microneedling. Let me just say, it’s a GAME CHANGER!
My technician told me that I would start to see results in 4+ weeks post treatment. This is why I’ve waited so long to share my experience. I truly wanted to let enough time go by to see how my skin reacted. For reference I did this in January and the images of my face today are from June.
Below I’m going to answer ALL of your questions about RF: does it hurt, benefits, cost and more! Also check out my pictures of before, during, after and one day post treatment. It honestly looks way worse than it feels. I also included an image of me now at the end of the post – no filter.
*Note – you can read about my experience with the other treatments I’ve received here: IPL, BBL & Microneedling.
Increases collagen production, tightens loose skin, minimizes fine lines, reduce scaring, fades stretch marks.
I did it for the above reasons and overall skin texture and plumpness (collagen production).
My face was completely numb. It was a little uncomfortable at times especially around my mouth and forehead. However it was do-able. I would not recommend doing it without numbing cream.
I numbed my face for about an hour prior to the treatment. My technician used the Morpheus 8 machine – wand with the small needles + heat. She did my cheeks, chin/mouth and lastly my forehead. It took about 45 minutes. I was VERY red after. This is totally normal as a little bit of blood comes out as well as your skin being heated up.
I was only “down” for a day with the crazy redness. You can see in my pictures that 24 hours later my skin looked way better. I had grid marks from the needles for about a week. They are so tiny you can barely see them.
A lot of hydration is key! You don’t want to use things that will irritate the skin: acids, retinol or vitamin c. I stuck to a serum and moisturizers and did not wear makeup for about a week. However you can start wearing makeup around 48 hours after treatment.
The heat added by the RF allows the treatment to go deeper into the skin. Essentially working faster with better results that will last longer. If you can, go with the RF!
$500
I’m gong to do it at least once a year. I went ahead and did my neck last month, and so glad I did!
In my experience, no.
